A little about Eileen...
Eileen is a watercolor artist, who lives in the delightful Broadland village of Hickling, where she spends much of her time painting local landscapes. She studied part-time at Gt. Yarmouth College of Art and Design and has been painting professionally since she took early retirement from the Norfolk Constabulary Civilian Staff in 1999.
Her work mostly consists of watercolours or other mixed media and her subjects are varied. She specializes in Broadland scenes, and local landscapes, but also paints boats, cottages, gardens and even trains! Much of her work goes all over the world, and is particularly popular in America, Canada, Australia and Cyprus, where she also spends time painting local scenery.
Eileen exhibits all over Norfolk and Suffolk, including Picturecraft Gallery at Holt, Blickling Hall, Blakeney Quay and has a permanent display at The Guild Gallery which can be found at Victoria Arcade, Great yarmouth. She is also well known for her prints and greedings cards including a Charity christmas card every year in aid of East Anglias' Childerens Hospicies (EACH).
Eileen was treasurer and committee memeber of the Great Yarmouth Guild of Artists and Craftsmen until recently, giving it up to concentrate more of her time on painting. She is also a member of the SAA, Hickling U3A and one of the founder members of the original Wymondham Gallery Group.
